Copy of Real Restore Collective Questions Answered: Our 5 Year Vision, Personal Fave Product and Who We Want to Serve Next
===
[00:00:00] Hey friends. Welcome back to the Call to Lead podcast. So I don't know about you guys, but I am loving this new series where I am taking your real questions and answering them. And so I'm gonna be playing. Three, at least three questions from our partners and advocates from within the field. And you'll get to hear their voice, their heart behind the voice, and you'll get to hear my real unfiltered thoughts.
And so if you liked last week's episode, I think you'll love this one because we're gonna be talking about our five year vision, my favorite products, and who we want to serve next. So let's dive into this week's episode. Yay.
[00:01:00]
Day: Hey Heather. I'm day partner from Guyton, Georgia, and I would love to know where you see Restore in five years.
Day. I love this question and I'm so glad you asked it. As I really do feel like whether or not you're a part of Restore as an advocate or a partner like you are day, I think it's important to know what we're [00:02:00] working together towards, and you've heard me say this before, that we truly believe that we are partnering with the very best people on this mission, vision, and values.
And so I definitely wanna share the vision in five key areas of what we want this to look like as specific as I can, keeping in mind one of my favorite scriptures, which is James four 13 through 17, which says that now, listen, you say today or tomorrow, we will go to. Or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.
Why do you not even know what will happen tomorrow? What is your life? You are a miss. That appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, if it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that. So I wanna preface my answer to you day by saying that all of this is, if the Lord wills it, of course.
~Um,~ it's really hard. That's one of the, the things is we cannot [00:03:00] predict the future. And my goal ultimately is to hear well done good and faithful servant when I get to heaven and I get to meet the Lord. And so hopefully that won't. Be within five years, or we'll be long after five years. Right. ~Um,~ but I wanna kind of preface everything I say with that.
However, I do feel like the specific vision that the Lord has put on our heart as we start this company is kind of around five areas. And so I'm gonna. I'm gonna definitely give the overview of the, the general term first because our, for our vision statement for the company, you've probably heard our mission statement, which is that we are committed to simplifying the lives of active families for the better.
And you've heard our values likely because we've broken them down here on the podcast. But our vision is, again, specific to five areas. And I'll maybe talk about each of them in five years because this is a long game. Ultimately, I want to build a legacy based business, not just for [00:04:00] myself, but for our family.
Your family, for, ~uh,~ all of the above, but. In five years, specific to our five ees that make up our vision. The first one is establish Christ's example as our foundation for roots that grow tall and strong, like a beautiful oak tree. So in five years I would love for people around us. To look and see what we're doing here is really different.
I truly want them to say, okay, this is not a top down pyramid structure that I'm used to with network marketing. This truly is something really beautiful and really special and organic that is like a tree. And so what is the source of that? And ultimately, I want them to see Christ in us and whether or not they're believers.
I really think that's what's gonna be the difference maker. That's what I've had the blessing of being able to see just in the few short months since we've launched here, is that certainly we're not here to tell somebody what they should or [00:05:00] shouldn't believe, but we are here to say that there is a better way, and that is following after Christ's example in life, in leadership and money and all of the things.
And so ~I.~ The success that I hope to have in five years. And I do have some, you know, kind of metrics. I was playing around with some numbers to kind of think like, okay, well what, what would this look like from a metric perspective? But ultimately what I decided is that I do want this to be incredibly successful.
I do want this to be a global company and at least. Two, well, yeah, two more countries outside the us which we know Canada's coming. So get excited. But I've got at least one other one in mind that I'd love to be in within five years. You know, I'd love to have at least a hundred thousand partners and advocates that span the globe.
~Um,~ and of course I've got some sales targets that are, that I would love to do, but ultimately none of it's gonna matter if people don't see the source of it all in us and through us, which is the example of Christ. And so I wanna kinda start there that I think my biggest. Vision for this is that people just see that what we're doing here is different.
That it, we really [00:06:00] did flip this thing upside down and that whether or not they choose to be a customer, a partner, or advocate, that they are attracted to what we do and who we are following. So to be a light, right? So the second one, it says, equip active families with simple and sustainable innovations for their everyday essentials and routines.
So this touches more on like the products in five years, and I definitely see us tackling a few other categories outside of beauty and skincare or makeup and skincare. What those categories are, whether it's active, you know, like more things like sunscreen or body care, or whether it's hair or whether it's like internal supplements, I think would be really cool.
I'm not a supplement girl, but Roger very much is a supplement guy, and so whether it's the. You know, the body line or the, or the body. We use the term edit around here. I do see us tackling the different facets of the active lives of our families. And so I hope that we have simple edits within [00:07:00] five years that really make sense to serve the different areas of our customer's lives.
So I don't see us as being this big global beauty brand where we have like 50 eyeshadow shades and you know, 40 foundation types and you know. 13 lip products. I really see us providing simple, edited, curated, and classic items that women want to wear every day. And so once we do that really well and we feel like we've kind of met that range, you know, same with our skincare.
Once we've felt that we have, we've filled those gaps, I think it'd be really cool to expand into some additional areas of opportunity within the lives of our active families. So you'll have to tell us what your dream edit would be, ~um,~ as we go, and it will certainly take time, but within five years, I'd like to see at least one additional category, if not a few more.
So. That's specific to products. Next is empower servant hearted leaders and influencers to work together. So [00:08:00] this is a big one for me. A big, big one. I have seen where the rise of social selling has actually hurt the industry as a whole in network marketing because of the duplication factor. Things like attraction marketing might work for some people, but it is not something that works for everyone.
And so it's not something that duplicates. In this business. And so for me, I think another thing that really sets what we do here apart is that we still equip those who are online. And most people are to be able to share in a very simple and easy, duplicatable way, regardless of the following size that they have.
But we tend to be a little bit more old. School, the things that have worked for generations in network marketing, which is creating connections and conversations and invitations. To me, that's really what sets us apart. So this is more of a personal goal, but I have a book, well, two books already written in my mind.
~Um,~ one of them is called To Lead. Hello. Basically this podcast in a book form, right? But the other one is Scale Without Social, because I truly believe that [00:09:00] while ~um,~ social media is not the enemy and. Certainly, I'm not telling everybody that they don't have to be on social. I'm already seeing that there is a a different way and there are alternatives.
And I believe that we at Restore can really kind of take, ~uh,~ back some of these really timeless principles that have been effective, apply them to our business to create the success that I hope the Lord allows us to have within five years. And so because of that, I think it's gonna help us to kind of heal the broken industry by just calling it out and addressing it.
Right away that we've got an advocate program that's designed for influencers to even help find other influencers. But then the partner program is where we create systems and duplication that are really simple and a lot of 'em based in, in-person. Like our business edit is really designed to help equip and empower our partners and advocates to be able to run their business in a way that anybody could do it.
And so, ~um,~ that's the next d which is empower certain hearted leaders, influencers work together. ~Um,~ the next one is kind of tied to that and it's to elevate the direct sales [00:10:00] industry. So I would love, we, I'm a, I'm a big fan of a lot of, ~um,~ the different coaches or organizations out there, like the direct selling news.
And so my dream would be that again, the industry starts to take notice of what we are doing here, and they're like, what is the difference maker? And we can say, well, first of all, it's. Jesus. And that is, you know, that's our source. That's the difference maker. But also here are the things that we are doing differently to heal the industry in general and to elevate the industry in general.
And then lastly, this is a cool one, and that's to encourage cancer Thrivers and their caretakers through a percentage of our profits. So this company actually started literally from day one by partnering with the company that provides our renewal complex and our skincare. And they, the, the founder of that company, Dr.
Thomas Wagner, truly believes that he, well, he and others that are on the journey in terms of like immunotherapy, that they will find a cure for cancer in our lifetime and we wanna get behind what he's doing. And so I want to be able to give back to his efforts. There's a foundation [00:11:00] that we plan to contribute through our profits.
We also want to be able to continue our Emily's Angel Award that we did at our, ~uh,~ homecoming event that honors someone who is a caretaker, ~um,~ of someone who's struggling with cancer in one way or another. And Samantha Mall was our very first recipient. And so we wanna do more of that and we would love.
Honestly to be able to do some more clinical testing and trials on our renewal complex, ~um,~ because, you know, we think there's some cool opportunities there from within that space. So hopefully that's how we can use the funds and the profits that we make from this business to be able to fuel those efforts in terms of cancer research.
So. Okay. That day is a long story short version of the vision for where I would love to see Restore if the Lord wills in the next five years. So thank you so much for that Awesome question.
Geona: Hi, I'm Geona and I'm a partner from Watsontown, Pennsylvania. [00:12:00] My question for you is, which is your personal favorite product, and can you tell me why?
Oh my goodness. Leave it to my girl Gianna to ask the toughest question of all of them. All right, so, ~um,~ I'm gonna go with kind of the first story that came to my mind because there are so many stories with each and every one of the products, and I love them all. I truly do. I think the system, it's. Self, especially with our curated makeup edit, I think would encompass it.
But I don't really think that's gonna answer your question for the specific one product. And so I'm gonna go with the story that came to mind to share today that I think is a, is a pretty cool and a really special one, and definitely something that I have a feeling I'm gonna wear. Pretty much on the daily, and that is our Betty Lip shine.
So if you're watching this on YouTube, you can actually see it here. But I wanna tell you why Betty is my favorite. No, you cannot buy this yet, but she is coming to partners and advocates. First, [00:13:00] very soon. So get excited. ~Uh,~ make sure to tune into our family call if you are a partner and advocate, because we'll be announcing when you can officially get your hands on Betty and the other lip shines, and then they will come out for customers a little bit later.
So I can't wait to see if you love it as much as I do, but here's the story behind it, because to me, that's why I chose this. So you just heard my, ~um,~ you know, the vision and the story behind wanting to, ~um,~ really elevate or well, ~uh,~ equip and empower. Cancer Thrivers. Right. Well. ~Uh, ~starting this company came right off the, a really tough season of losing one of my best friends.
If you're a long time listener of this podcast, you know this story already, but one of my best friends, my hairstylist, she was a business partner in my previous company, ~um,~ she, she was a makeup artist. She was just beautiful inside and out. Emily was her name, Emily Horton, and she passed away from breast cancer after her five year battle.
And it's definitely one of the hardest things that I know I have. Been through, just because if you've ever watched somebody struggle, especially someone that's a young mama of [00:14:00] kids, it's just, it's really hard. But one of the beautiful blessings of our friendship is that there were four of us, so my friend Catherine and Tricia, and Emily and myself were called the Golden Girls.
And, ~um,~ full transparency. I still haven't really watched a lot of the Golden Girls stuff, and I will give you one guess to which one I am. I am Rose. Yes, I am the ditzy one. ~Um,~ and used to be the blonde one, right? ~Um,~ but I could never remember which one I was and just was anyways, but I loved and appreciated the fact that we called ourselves the Golden Girls.
And so I'll never forget when I was. Trying to decide on the products, and I knew I wanted a blush balm that was, ~um,~ you know, kind of multipurpose. But I also am a lip gloss girl. I love lip gloss. I've always loved lip gloss, and that was kind of something that I felt that we needed to have on the line.
And I got really excited 'cause I texted the group chat with Tricia and Catherine, a k, a Dorothy, and Sophia and I said, you guys we're gonna have lip gloss [00:15:00] and it's, and I didn't know if we were gonna call, call it lip shine then, but we're gonna have lip gloss and we're gonna have to name it after the Golden Girls.
And so we'll have Blanche, of course Af Emily was Blanche. We'll have, ~um,~ Dorothy and we'll have Sophia and I'll be Betty and I'll pick my favorite shade. And you guys, it was one of those things where like the group chat went silent and they were like, there was no response. And so about an hour later I was like, that's funny.
I thought this was a great idea that they would love. And then all of a sudden it hit me. I'm like, Betty is not a golden girl. Her name is Rose. And so I chimed back in and I'm like, just kidding. One will be Rose. But then you guys, when I went to go pick and choose the colors. The coolest thing happened.
So I met up with Emily's, ~um,~ husband who let me grab all of her makeup and I was like, what lip gloss was Emily's favorite? And she loved a lot of bright, bold shades. But when I saw this guy, I'll kind of hold the, ~um,~ yeah, I'll kind of hold it to see if you're watching this. When I saw this guy here in her.
~Um,~ little. It was like the top drawer. [00:16:00] I mean, it's practically empty. And I was like, oh my gosh, this color, first of all is gorgeous. Second of all, she clearly loved this and I was like, I feel like this is the color that we need to do. And in case you're not sure how it works with the formulation, 'cause I didn't know until I started this.
You have to send them, like if you're like, I want it to be this color, you. Send them that color, send them something similar, and you can certainly adjust it and say, I'd like it to be more gold, or more pink, or less bold, or whatever it is. But I was like, no, I want it to be exactly like this. And so I did not wanna send them her lip gloss.
~Um.~ Yeah, I just didn't, I didn't wanna send it. I, I want it, it's like a keepsake. It's also a little gross. Girls too, right? ~Um,~ but I was like, gosh, I need to find, did I thought about going to buy this actual version? And then it hit me. I was like, wait a second. I dug around in my personal stash and you guys, what did I find?
But a smaller version of this exact color that Emily had gifted to me for, maybe it was one Christmas or my birthday at some point along the [00:17:00] way. And I knew immediately this was her, and this is where I might get emotional, but this was her giving, you know, herper of the Lord. Using that, that circumstance or that inspiration to say, yep, I found your shade.
You can send this onto the formulator. And so meet Betty. If you're watching this, you can see she's pretty dang close. Let me see if I can even show you here, ~um,~ on my hand to see how similar these two shades are. They certainly. ~Um,~ I think are about as close of a match as you can get. And of course not everything is always a perfect dupe.
Oh yeah. See, I can hardly even get enough out of Emily's to be able to get it, get it on there, but they're so similar and so special and so that is one of the reasons why Betty is my favorite because I feel like that was one of those God winks. That was one of those times that Emily was with me. And it's a pretty color that goes.
I'm wearing it, ~uh,~ pretty much on its own. I had a little bit of Marie blush bomb on from earlier, but. [00:18:00] It goes beautifully over our blush bombs. It's a universal, it's got a little bit of a warm shimmer, so our warm girls will love it, but I think if you're cool like me, you'll love it as well. So Betty Lips shine coming soon, Gianna, that is one of my favorite stories and one of my favorite products.
So, great fun question friend.
Hi Heather. I am Hannah Healy and I am a partner with Restore Collective from Carroll, Iowa. So one of the values that I love about Restore Collective is that you are simplifying the lives of busy families. I have a busy family myself. I am a mother of four ages, five and under. And one of the things I listened to when I first started listening to your podcast was your announcement of Restore Collective.
And one of the things you. To that was that you were looking at focusing on the buyer of the household, which is typically mom. So my thought, my question is, is who is going to be your [00:19:00] next hook after you've hooked Mom's on the Restore Collective business? What, who is Restore Collective going to be focusing on next?
Thanks.
Thank you so much for this thoughtful question, Hannah. I love it and I actually had a chance to listen to it while I was in New York last week. Sourcing new products for future drops. So that was really fun and exciting when I got your message. And not only did it hit at the perfect time, but even it started to kind of resonate and like even send ripples through my soul as I was thinking about the best way to answer it.
And so I got my answer for you, and I think it's really cool. We talk about sustainability as one of our core values, and for me, that's not just about great packaging, that's better for our environment, but it's about falling in love with a product that you can use for the long run. And so to answer your question, my [00:20:00] heart for the future consumers of our products are teenagers.
And so again, I think mama's gonna be the one to buy it because I mean, what teenagers out there? Well actually a lot of 'em are out there walking around with $200 makeup that actually is. Quite common. In fact, my, ~uh,~ youngest, who's 12, literally spent almost $200 on nail supplies and is now doing her own gel X nails at home, which is kind of wild and kind of crazy.
And that's her money, by the way. That's, that she's saved up. So, so in fact, that is I think, an emerging market in the beauty industry. But it's got to be done well and right in the fact that I want and pray that our products are focused on enhancing and embracing your natural God-given beauty. And while I want that for my thirties, forties, fifties, sixties, plus mamas and grandmas and you know, all of that, I especially want it for our teens.
And so I think that is something that really sets Restore Apart is that this is the perfect [00:21:00] starting point for someone who's learning to do their makeup and who is same thing with a skincare who really just needs a really simple skincare routine. Because my oldest, my 16-year-old at first, was actually really resistant to trying the makeup because she's like, I like my makeup.
I don't need your makeup. But I was like, okay. But she fell in love with the skincare and that was actually one of the first. Times she'd ever really been consistent with using a skincare regimen. And so, right. Then I, I, you know, even though it was always kind of like right in the back of, of my mind or my heart ~as,~ as, as a goal, ~um,~ I really think there's an amazing opportunity.
Within Restore and within the beauty industry to get this right with our littles and I, I think it would be considered like Gen Z, um, right. I think is the next, is the next kind of wave or gen Alpha. Yeah, gen z, gen alpha. Anyways, all, all of the above. But the reason why I just, I think this is so perfect is, ~um,~ and actually Harrison, who is our host at Welcome Home, he's our pastor, ~um,~ he's got two daughters, ~um,~ [00:22:00] himself and.
I had the pleasure of doing Emma, his daughter's makeup for her 13th birthday. And this was actually before we even had the Restore product. So I kind of taught her the Restore way, and then I sent her with a big list of things that were available at Ulta, like Elf products and some other good stuff. ~Um,~ you know, so that she could, she could do it.
And what's really cool is that I was able to give her her first restore goodies at the Welcome Home event. And, ~um,~ and now she's. She's officially ified, but he said it at the event. He's like, this is the kind of company and the kind of product that I as a pastor, dad feel comfortable. Allowing my teenager to start to wear and to start to play with because it's natural enough.
~Um,~ and while you can have fun with it and go a little glam and use it for school dances, it's natural and it is focused on things like lifting, you know, and giving a little bit of dimension to the face or color correcting things like acne, ~um,~ giving like a subtle and natural flush to the face. And then the cool part is how many of you guys [00:23:00] learned how to do your makeup from like the Clinique counter or Merle Norman?
If you grew up in a small town and you went to the local store with your, with your mom. Or maybe Mary Kay. And like your, you know, the Mary Kay consultant in your town was the one that taught you at one of the facials events. Well, so many women, I would say actually, most women learn that and then they stick with that for the rest of their life.
I actually had, ~um,~ one of the people right after you sent me this. This message, Hannah? ~Um,~ as a question to ask, I had someone tell me that they actually learned to do their makeup way back in the day when they were a model and they, ~uh, and,~ and I wouldn't have even known. It's actually a neighbor, ~um,~ a friend of mine.
And, ~uh, and,~ and she's, she's actually from South Africa, but I, I, number one, didn't know she was a model number two, she hardly wears any makeup and she's just learning to do her restore. She's like, but I feel like I'm learning it all new, because I learned back in probably like the eighties, that's what she said.
Eighties or nineties. Yeah, nineties, I guess. ~Um,~ when she was a model, how to do her makeup, and she's done it the same way ever since. And so that's what I want is for [00:24:00] people to find a routine, whether they're 15 or 50 or beyond, and stick with it and love it. And if it's simple and if it works and it's all in one, it's gonna, you know, curate their life.
I just think there's something really, really special about that. So I would say that's our next. I guess target, if you will, is teens, but not in a way that we are going to try to market to them, per se, ~um,~ but more serve them through the value that our products can bring to their life. And it's been kind of cool to watch that.
Now Lawson, my 16-year-old has. Totally come around. She, now that she sees it all in one, she has said to me, she's like, mama, I cannot get this look with the existing products that I was using. She's like, and if I do, it feels really cakey and doesn't look as pretty as this does in person. And so to me that's a testament that this up and coming generation is going to love what we do and it's gonna be a refreshing simplification to the overwhelm that they're experiencing when they go into Sephora or Ulta.
And so long [00:25:00] story short, that is the answer to your question, Hannah, is I would love for this to be the perfect makeup and skincare for teens. So guys, thank you so much for, ~um,~ just so many thoughtful questions. Keep 'em coming. I definitely have some more. If you haven't heard your question, know that it is gonna be coming.
It was so hard to pick. But, ~um,~ I am gonna be doing at least one more of these and it might be something that I just do once a month from here on out. So, ~um,~ at any point. That you hear this or listen to this, just send your founding partner, mentor the question that you have and, ~uh,~ I will play it on the podcast or might play.
I know, I guess I can play 'em all, but I will play it on the podcast live and answer your question, so I'm an open book. Thank you guys.
So before we get into our prayer this week, I wanna take the time to shout out one of our Restore partners, and her name is Ms. Terry Schram. And you guys, it's been so fun because I got to meet Ter, well actually I had met her before, but I got to see Terry at one of our Restore road trips back in the spring as we were getting ready to [00:26:00] launch this thing.
And she did decide to dive in. To, ~uh,~ becoming a restore partner in April. And, ~um,~ while she's done great this entire time, she has absolutely taken off this month. She wound up having a killer beauty lab experience. She invited a few friends over and she not only reached the momentum incentive this month, but she also ranked two gold partner.
And so this just goes to show that even if it's. Been, let's see, may, June, July, August, September, even if it's been five months since she's gotten going, it is never too late to do this thing. And so Terry got it done and I am just so proud of her because she's a small town girl. She's so sweet. And I just am just really excited for you, Terry.
So congratulations on ranking to gold and hitting the momentum incentive, and you're doing amazing things and it's so inspiring over there. So keep up the great work, Terry. Yay. All right, now we're gonna say a prayer. So, Lord, thank you so much [00:27:00] for these amazing questions and just keep 'em coming from our awesome advocates and partners.
These are the type of questions that truly are stirring up the inspiration to reference a question from last week that, um, helps us all tie deeper to the why behind what we're doing. And we know all of the goodness that we've experienced here from Restore any good idea. Um, any, any. Good result from something.
It's all from you. And so first of all, we're thankful for that. Second of all, we ask for more of that. We are doing our best to align with your will, and we just say, if it is your will, that we would love to equip, um, everyone with the vision and the inspiration that you've given on our hearts. And so thank you for these stories.
Thank you for the women listening. Thank you for, uh, the future things that you are gonna do for us and through us, and we're so thankful for all of it. In Jesus' name. Amen. Alright guys, have a fantastic week and thanks for [00:28:00] listening.
