[00:00:00] Hey friends. Welcome back to the Called to Lead podcast. So today's episode is gonna be wrapping up a series where we have been setting your business up, whether it's with Restore or another direct sales company with a foundation, a solid foundation so that you can grow and have success, whatever that looks like for you.
Based on the simple acronym of GROW. So this is wrapping up the series with the W, which is gonna be who, and we'll talk more about that in a minute. But if you haven't yet watched the previous three episodes or listened to them on your favorite platform, I recommend going to do that
Because you will learn that the G stands for starting from a place of gratitude. The R stands for defining the results that you want. The O is looking for opportunities that are all around you to help your grow your business, but also grow you. And then again, today is gonna be all about the who. Who can your story [00:01:00] serve?
Who is maybe just a few steps behind where you are in your business that would be inspired by where you are? And then who? Are you becoming in this process? And who do you want to become through this journey? So let's dive into today's episode, and I can't wait.
[00:02:00]
Okay, so hopefully by now you have listened to the previous episodes where you have worked through the previous three letters in our Grow acronym, and you have started your growth journey from a place of gratitude for wherever you have been up to this point. And actually, that's gonna be really applicable to what we'll talk about today.
You have decided some tangible results that you are looking for in the next season of your business. And you are actively looking for the opportunities that are all around you to build and grow your business and build and grow yourself through whatever results come from those opportunities. And so today it's all about the who.
And this is a really, uh, important. Factor in this grow acronym because who not how is one of our 12 core values here at Restore Collective? [00:03:00] And if you're a longtime listener of this podcast or you've been following our journey, you can go back, ~uh,~ specifically to that episode even and learn about why we chose who, not how as one of our core values.
Because people tend to get tripped up in the, well, okay, this is great, but how do I do this? Or what do I need to have in order to do, make this happen? But in reality, it's. The who. It's who can you serve through this? Who needs your help? Who has the same problems that you have had and that you have found the solution for, whether it's through the product or through the business.
Who do you want to be? Who are you inspired by? And so it's all about the who here at Restore. And so we're gonna wrap that up with the GROW acronym, focusing on the who, but specifically. There's three who's that I want you to open your mind and heart to and who you are going to be able to serve on this growth journey when you start with a strong foundation like we are doing here.
So the first who that I want you to focus on is [00:04:00] who is just a few steps behind you. And so what I mean by that is. Sometimes it can feel, going back to ~the, the, uh,~ the gap in the gain that we talked about in the gratitude or the G section. It can feel like you're so far from where you want to be in this business.
Maybe you set a result to hit a really high rank, or really in, you know, big income level. Or maybe you're feeling like, oh gosh, I need to be an expert at my product. Or, you know, for example, I need to be a makeup artist or a makeup expert in order to do it. And you can feel like you need to have everything in place.
In order to be able to effectively serve your people well, actually that's not the case. People are often most inspired by someone who's just a few steps ahead of them on whatever journey it is that they're on. So maybe someone doesn't wear makeup because they don't know how to do it. Are they gonna be more inspired by a professional makeup artist or are they gonna be more inspired by someone who has that as their story that says like, [00:05:00] you know what?
I wasn't even wearing makeup 'cause I honestly didn't know how to do it. It or who maybe has never done direct sales before because they've just maybe had a bad feeling about it or just never found the right company. And are they gonna be more likely inspired by someone who's like a triple star diamond and has earned millions in the business, or are they gonna be more inspired by you who maybe also has never done this before?
And that is your story too, that. Nothing ever quite felt right until you found your company. Maybe that's Restore Collective, who is just a few steps behind you, not like who, you know, wants to be the Triple Star Diamond, right? Or the Platinum Pinnacle partner. ~Uh,~ if they're, they're with Restore or the founding partner, mentor, you know, whatever it is that like, are these big aspirational goals sometimes that most of the time actually that can be really overwhelming for people.
So if you can show them that you have been right where they are in their journey, whether that's as a consumer or as a [00:06:00] business person, and you can inspire them on the steps you've taken on your journey of growth, whatever that looks like, because you're just a little bit ahead of them, they are going to be so much more likely to follow you on that same journey than if they feel like they could never be where you are.
So that's the first who that I want you to think about is. Who has those same problems that you had before you got started in the journey? Who might be out there that has the same story as you, that has a similar story or knows someone who might have a similar story? Because you might have someone who is a triple star diamond at another company that has a lot of people that.
Maybe, you know, haven't had a lot of success, and when they see that you are having success, even if it's not ranking to Triple Star, diamond or Platinum Pinnacle partner here at Restore, but you're having success, sometimes it goes beyond, most of the time it goes beyond the rank or the income, but instead the community, the culture, the things that [00:07:00] are, you know, often intangible, that if you share that, whether that's on social media.
Or one-to-one with that person, and you truly lean into the difference that it's made in your life in, you know, just the short time that you've been doing this or however long you've been doing this. How inspiring is that gonna be? And actually, I just had this inspiration on our family call this month.
We do a monthly call for our entire Restore family of partners and advocates, and we always do what's called a star spotlight, which star is our first leadership ranks. Really simple. You just need 2000 in group volume from your own personal sales, from an anyone that's on your branch, uh, growing with Restore.
But one of those branches needs to be 500 in group volume. Whether that's one person, maybe an amazing advocate or someone just getting going in their business or whether it's a group of. Five profitable partners selling a hundred dollars in their business. Either way, we love to spotlight someone at that star rank each month on this call.
And the reason we pick someone who's a star and not someone who's say a silver [00:08:00] star or a gold star is exactly the reason why we are what we're talking about here today is that. If someone maybe has just joined or they're at profitable partner or silver partner and they wanna feel inspired, while they may love the trainings that we're doing with our Rooted Restore from our founding partner mentors, they wanna know what is someone who just did this, who's someone who's just a few steps ahead of me.
What are they doing that's working? And so Kate Hughes, that shared on our last family call, shared a really inspiring story. That while she's been in this business for like over a decade, I'm trying to remember, it's literally like 12 years or something. The first eight years, she didn't make a dime. She didn't make a dime in her business.
And how inspiring is that even though she has a long journey for those that maybe have also struggled with making an income in a previous endeavor. And when they could see that this has been such a blessing to her. She's clearly making money now because she has progressed through our compensation [00:09:00] plan in a very short time while she's being here.
But more importantly, she shared her heart for why she feels like this is something that she ~has.~ Could never even dreamed possible in, uh, the direct sales space. And that is what is going to be inspiring to people. And you can have that same story if you don't think too big or don't think, and we talked about that in the results section.
~You know, you,~ you don't want to, ~you know,~ feel like you have to get to this end result before you can start to make an impact on other people. So who is just a few steps behind you? And think about it. Literally think about who those who's are. You can make a list if people are coming to mind, people that you know, as you're creating content, you're talking specifically to those people that have been exactly where you are because you can and will serve them through your journey.
Because the next who that I want you to focus on, or the second step is who can your story serve in the future? So this [00:10:00] is kind of tied to the O, the opportunities for growth and taking action in your business despite maybe even failing in that action or not having the result you know that you desired from actually, you know, taking action on that opportunity.
Sometimes failure even, and certainly success. Can be what's gonna inspire someone in the future? And actually truly, uh, there was a scripture literally, in fact, I'm gonna look it up because I love to reference specific scripture when I can. Um, because I, you know, I'm, this is one of those things, like all good business advice is obviously scriptural and the biblical wisdom is another one of our core values.
But when I literally find the re the reference verse, and it's literally in the same week where we're talking about something, I feel like it always needs to be stated. So before I butcher it, let me grab the exact verse for you. Okay, so it's second Corinthians one verses three and four. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of compassion [00:11:00] and the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our troubles. So that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we received ourselves from God. And so there are gonna be hard times that you're gonna go through personally in life, in your family, and certainly in your business as well.
And when you can look at those hard experiences, not only being for you and allowing you to grow into who you are meant to be, and we'll talk more about that in a minute. The next who, but. You are going through this and you are looking to the Lord, hopefully as your source of comfort, because you are not gonna find it in anything outside of that.
If you're ever going through something just really hard ~and. Uh, just a really hard time of, you know,~ a valley of the shadow of death, as it ~says,~ says in Psalm 23. That's another verse that has come up repeatedly over this week. And if you're in that season now, or you're gonna be going through that season in the future, or you've been through that season, God is your source of comfort and you've got to look to him to do it.
And hopefully [00:12:00] you've done that. But the reason, as the scripture says, is so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort that we received ourselves from God. And so that's a specific verse that references the who that your story, even if it's hard or especially when it's hard. That is what you can do to serve someone else, and so the goodness that you've had, the comfort that you've received, and maybe it is through a specific person that the Lord sent your way.
Maybe it is the community and culture that lifts you up and is all around you in your ~B ~branch or in your business. And if so, that same comfort can be just what someone's looking for. There is a loneliness epidemic. That's probably a whole other podcast episode, and you can kind of Google what that is.
It's a deep dive and it's pretty intense and people are searching and seeking for community. And so if you have been there and your story of how you find a community of people who are like you and her, who are building their business [00:13:00] together, that can serve someone even in the future. And so. The second who is gonna be, who is your story gonna serve that you don't even know about right now, who five years down the road when you share the journey that you're on with them is gonna feel inspired, feel encouraged, feel like they're a part of something even bigger, and a part of God's plan because he is working all things together for the good of those who love him and are called.
According to his purpose. And if you are in a direct sales company, hopefully he has called you there. And that is for a purpose. And sometimes you can't really see what good is gonna come from that. And often it is years down the road. And there are many experiences that I have had any, even mistakes that I have made as a business that I can see specifically.
Now that I'm like, that's why that happened. It was so that I could talk someone through that mistake that I made so that they hopefully don't make that that same mistake in the future, or I can console them and help them not have the guilt or shame if they do [00:14:00] make that mistake. Right. And so who can your experience, your journey serve in the future?
Same thing. When you have success, if you actually achieve the results, it can be the good things that are all around us. Who is gonna be inspired by your story ~from~ five years from now? And if you struggle with setting, you know, selfish goals, that's incredible. Because you shouldn't be, do everything, you know, do nothing out of selfish ambition, right?
So you're not trying to do it for yourselves, but for those of you guys who maybe struggle with that, that's why I like to. Say I'm a recovering achiever. 'cause for years I kind of lived in the shame and, you know, kind of negative thoughts around my, uh, achieving mindset or who the Lord made me to be in that.
And when I realized that me setting big goals for my business and having a big dream and a big vision, especially even here with Restore, that can inspire others in the future. Especially when we achieve it and we do it in the strength of the Lord and not in our own might. Right? Because others can do that same thing too, if they look to him as the source of that.
So who can, your [00:15:00] story, whatever that looks like, who isn't gonna serve in the future? The third who is all about you, and that is who? Are you looking to become? And hopefully this is an easy answer for you if you are a believer and we are here on this earth to become more like Jesus. He is our example.
And again, going back to the biblical wisdom, if you follow for example, the gospels and you see his beautiful example of servant leadership, another core value of ours. And you see how he came to seek and save the lost and. Serve those not to be served. That is a beautiful picture of who you can become on any business journey.
I'm not trying to equate network marketing as like the solution for all people, but it definitely is one that if you want to have success in this business, you're gonna have to be a servant leader. You are. And if you do that, and if you follow his example, you will become. Or you can become more like him and you can become the who that you've wanted to be.
[00:16:00] And so I want you to think who, who do you wanna be? Like, you know. Again, obviously for believers that's gonna be like Jesus, but who are you inspired by? Who is someone? Maybe it is one of our founding partner mentors. Maybe it is the person. Maybe it's Kate that shared on the family call last week. Maybe it's, you know, your mentor in your company.
Maybe it's someone that you've heard on another podcast. Who do you wanna become in this journey? Who? Are you becoming on this journey and you want to be able to always be in an area of growing. ~Um,~ and the way that you're gonna do that, it's kinda like growing in the dirt, is you're gonna go through some of these hard things we've talked about.
But you're gonna become exactly who the Lord designed you to be through this journey. So my friends, that's the last who is who do you want to become on this journey? Get really clear about that and look to those examples, and if you wanna become like that, who do what they did. And so. To wrap it up today, and then of course, we'll pray the first, who is gonna [00:17:00] be, who is just a few steps behind you on your journey, and how can you inspire them with right where you are, even if that's not where you wanna be in your business yet.
The second one is, who will your story serve in the future that you don't even know yet? The people that good, bad, all of it are going to be inspired by what it is that you do on this journey in business. And then lastly, who do you want to become in this? Who inspires you? Do what they did, and you can also become like them.
So I'm gonna wrap us up in prayer, and I hope this has been such a helpful series for you guys. It's always even inspiring for me, ~um, as,~ as I'm ~building, you know,~ following my own, ~uh,~ growth journey here and starting restore from a foundation of solid, ~uh,~ ground and growth. So. Lord, thank you so much for the people that are listening and that have been on this journey with us, whether they've just found us and are just working through the Grow acronym and and setting a solid foundation of growth in their business, or whether they've been a part of [00:18:00] this journey for a long time and they are trying to grow a business, maybe even in something outside of Restore, and they just are looking for solid.
I'm just so thankful that they're here and I'm so thankful that you continue to give me the inspiration and the wisdom to be able to pass back on to them, um, and let them look to you as the example, not to me or to my words, because hopefully anything good that I say that resonates with them is just based on the experiences that I've had in trying to follow your example.
And so thank you for, uh, just this opportunity. Uh, thank you for your words and wisdom again, and thank you for those that are listening. It's all from you, for you, and through you. In Jesus name, amen. All right guys. Stay tuned for something new and exciting next week, which I don't even know what that is.
So we'll see. But dive in for more episodes ~on, uh, ~here on the Called to Lead podcast. Thank you so much for being a part of this. Bye,
[00:19:00]
