148 | Restore Collective Core Value: Loyalty
===
[00:00:00] Hey friends. Welcome back to the Called to Lead podcast. So today's episode is a continuation of the series of rolling out the core values for our brand new direct sales company. Restore collective. And today's value is when we're, I'm going to be sharing, not only the reasons why we chose it, but also the ways that the word loyalty are going to play into our compensation plan and give you a little sneak peek of that and how it's going to be quite different from what's out there.
So buckle up and let's dive into another episode, rolling out our core values. And this one specifically all around loyalty. Here we go.
[00:01:00]
Okay. So we're going to start off the episode with the verse that we chose to reflect the overall meaning of the word loyalty, which as you'll see in the episode can mean a lot of different things, and we might have chosen it for a different reason than you think. And you'll see also how it plays back together with a lot of the other values that we have chosen to start our company. But the verse specifically that inspired us is from Ruth, Ruth 1:16 [00:02:00] but Ruth replied don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you where you go, I will go and where you stay.
I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God, my God. And so if you're not familiar with this beautiful old Testament story, it's one where, ~uh,~ Ruth is actually talking to her mother-in-law and her husband and her father-in-law have both passed away. And so the old Jewish tradition or the Jewish law rather required them to go back to where Ruth's mother in law was from to basically find someone to take care of them and to provide for them. And so her mother-in-law kept encouraging her.
No, no. It's you stay, you stay here. It's fine. I got this. But Ruth was so loyal to her. Mother-in-law that she wanted. To go with her, even if it meant entering into a crazy season of the unknown. And of course it turned out to be an amazing, wonderful story. And actually she is also in the direct lineage of [00:03:00] Jesus. So what's really cool about this story is her obedience to the Lord's plan and her loyalty to her mother and law, despite. Really having the freedom to do whatever she wanted to do. Resulted in something so beautiful and so special. So I love the story of loyalty in the Bible and in scripture.
And it's definitely one that I think can lend itself towards any relationship. And given that this is a women driven industry, whether it's someone in your actual family or someone who becomes your family in your network marketing company, whether that's Restore or not. I think this beautiful example of loyalty is something that is worth noting. And so this is the scripture we chose, but the first reason we chose this is definitely tied to. Maybe the counter to what you may think, because you could hear a verse like this and you could think, okay, they've chosen loyalty because they want. Everyone who is with someone at another company to come join that person at this company.
And they want them [00:04:00] to stay there. And be loyal no matter what they feel called to do. Well, my friends, I chose this verse and I believe that loyalty goes beyond far beyond someone actually being a part of the same business that you're in, especially if that person is your family. And so the first reason we chose loyalty is because I think this is a beautiful example for our friends, especially for many of us who may be. Are coming from a company that has changed there. Their structure and there are a lot of them out there.
So that might be you. And it certainly is me. And not everybody that you may have been loyal to, or that was loyal to you in the past at that company. Are necessarily going to join you in Restore, or you might be listening to this because you love someone that's in Restore and you want to know what this is all about, but you've been called to stay somewhere else or to go somewhere else, or it just doesn't feel like the right fit for you and this right season. And so we chose this word loyalty because [00:05:00] we want to make sure we are clear on where it lies. And that loyalty is to the people that the Lord has put in your life.
Especially if those people are your family, which we'll talk about that in a minute. But even if they aren't. For example, I was chatting with my mama and my, ~for a ~former company and we will be bringing that kind of genealogical element into our compensation plan where literally it's going to be like a family tree.
I think you've heard me talk about that. Our compensation plan is inspired by ~the.~ The big, beautiful, tall Oak tree and the roots specifically have that aligned with our core values. All of our Founding Partner Mentors have been selected and chosen. Based on those, the alignment with those core values and they will be the branches to lift up and grow this, this beautiful tree. Well, so someone's upline will technically be called their mentor here, but we will lovingly call them their mama.
And so I'm bringing that over from my past experience in the company, because my Seint mama and my Seint grandma. Friends. They were [00:06:00] just the best. They are honestly as good as it gets and I will be friends with them forever. I talk to them often. I talked to both my mama and my grandma. In the last week. And I had a fantastic conversation with, ~uh, with, with~ my mama mama. Not my real mama, but my ma that we're marketing mama. ~Um,~ just yesterday or the day before, something like that.
And we had a beautiful conversation about ~what, ~what loyalty looks like, because guess what she was called very on after we got the news and our other company to go. To another opportunity. And I encouraged her in that and I knew and had peace in my heart even before I knew what the Lord had for me next.
And I didn't have the same peace as her to go to that company, but I knew it was the right choice for her. I knew that it was, and because I didn't know that for me, I told her I had to pause and thankfully we had the kind of friendship and relationship that is based in that loyalty that even though I didn't follow, like Ruth's beautiful example of, you know, ~when, ~when Sarah. Sarah left and went to another company.
I did not follow her, but our friendship and our [00:07:00] relationship and the connection goes so far beyond. Me enrolling with her over there, or her enrolling with me here, because she's not, she's not going to be a part of a Restore except to be a friend a supporter. She is of course, a member of our focus group.
I have gotten her feedback on all kinds of things, including our compensation plan, which we're going to talk a little bit about today because I value and I'm loyal to her as a friend first, regardless of if we do business. So the first reason we chose this word loyalty is we want to be really clear with you that~ it's,~ you should be loyal to the people. That you have been putting your life with your family first, which is what I will dive into that one next. But the loyalty, doesn't just stop with your family here at Restore either because you will, I can promise you if you're a partner with ~re ~Restore
and if you're a leader with Restore, you're going to have people on your team that one day might want to go a different path or decide that this isn't right for them at all, or through a different season, whatever that looks like they may have to make [00:08:00] changes. And so the loyalty that we hope to inspire and the value that we hope to instill in you and anyone that is a part of restore. Goes so far beyond just being loyal to our company or loyal to your team or loyal to your systems or your culture, because. One of the things that you will also experience, if you are a leader at restore or any network marketing company, is there's going to come a time where you're going to have leaders that want to leave the nest. And that loyalty. Extends beyond just them having to remain loyal to your systems or to your tools or whatever that, whatever that looks like for your team.
And you have to let them fly and be loyal to the friendship and the relationship first. And so that's the reason we chose this word. And we want to be clear in that is that ~we hope you and. ~We hope to build something so beautiful that you will be inspired to be loyal, to restore for the long run. And we'll talk about the next core value next week.
Sustainability, which we'll talk about that. The ultimately, we love you for the [00:09:00] decisions that you feel called to do, whether that's to partner with us for the short term, the long term, whatever it is, we want to be loyal to the relationships first. So the second reason is tied to those relationships, but more specifically the order or the balance of where those priorities of the relationships lie. And whom you are most loyal to. And so I want to kind of share a story about this first.
So sometimes there can be things in life that are good things. Sometimes it might even be things that seems like the Lord is calling you to, for example, I was really loyal to my group of high school girls that I was serving when I was serving at the church, but I was serving at multiple ministries trying to raise my two little kids.
I was working full-time or more than full-time actually at a, at a traditional business. I still had my boutique and this was prior to my network marketing days, actually somewhere in there actually did join a couple of network marketing companies to try and make an ends [00:10:00] meet, but I wasn't taking. Taking them seriously.
And essentially in this season, I was really spread thin by good things. And I was incredibly loyal to the people that I was around, including, and that season, the high school girls that I was serving. And so about this time. Let's see, gosh, it was probably eight years ago. Eight or nine years ago. I at one of my high school, students felt led and called to go on a mission trip to Africa.
And I felt led right alongside her and so much. So I signed up, we were both fully funded. I helped her fund raised. We were going together until Roger, my husband, which you guys have met was honest and truthful with me and said, you know, Heather, I just don't have peace about you going on this. And we had to have a pastor kind of come in and talk to us about this and thank God that he did, because he said, Heather, if it's not your husband's will for you to go on this mission trip, it's not the Lord's will for you to go on this mission trip. So instead of [00:11:00] me shifting and sharing my loyalty to this high school girl or to the people that I was serving with at church, or even the children that I was going to go serve in Africa. I had to get my priorities of where my loyalty lies in order.
And that pastor, thankfully on a napkin helped me realize something that has been incredibly life-changing for me. And he said, Heather, you have to put God first. And I was on fire for the Lord. I was a newer believer. And I was like, yep. Got that. Serving in multiple ministries. Got that. And he said, then you have to put your husband next. And he wrote down, Roger. And I was like, okay.
And I'm like, oh, I don't know that I'm doing the best job at that, but okay. And he said, then your children come next. And I was like, oh boy, because Roger had said, I want you to put our family first. And I felt like, you know, as anybody who is a mom of two little kids, I was running around like crazy trying to serve them.
And of course they were my world. But somewhere in there, I had really left out. [00:12:00] Roger left out the person, the worldly person who was most important and should have been most important in my life. And it was starting to impact our marriage, not in a great way. And so the pastor continued and he said, so God, first, Roger, second. Lawson and Mary third. And then it's church and then it's your work and then it's your friends.
And of course I had multiple works at that point. And so I could see right then and there, so clearly on the back of that napkin that while I was trying to be a very loyal person and be present and be all in, in too many different, really good places. I was not getting my loyalty in the areas that made ~the most. ~The impact that the Lord wanted in my life. And so right then and there, I decided not to go on that mission trip.
I decided to stop serving with the high school ministry and instead just serve on the welcome team, which I've still been serving there for about 15 years at our church. And I love it. It's definitely my sweet spot. I serve about an hour a week. And it's perfect. I feel like it's a way for me to, you know, pour out onto others, [00:13:00] the joy that has poured into me from our church.
And I get to see other people experience the growth in their marriages, in their friendships, in their relationships and in their walk with Christ through that serving. But it doesn't require me serving in multiple capacities or saying yes to all of these things that seem like good things. And from that, I realized that I've got to make time for my husband.
And we do like dock dates, or we'll try to go on trips, just us because raising children can suck it out of you. Can I get an amen? ~Um,~ while they are such an important aspect of our lives. We can't forget the people like our spouses. That the Lord has put in our lives to help be our partners in this. And so I just want to encourage you, if you feel like you're burning the candle at both ends, maybe you're, I'm not the room mom type but I was a cheer mom this time. So I'm learning, but I'm definitely not the typical like cheer mom room mom type, because I've been so busy and in all my endeavors, but if you're the type that says yes to everything, I'm going to encourage you to think about the fact [00:14:00] that what you're being loyal to and what you're saying yes to is likely a no to something else.
And so specifically what that looks like in your business is you saying yes to something in your business might mean saying no to something for your family. And we want to instill that loyalty in your family first and get those priorities down. God, first family second. And everything else. And because we are a beauty company, you know, right now we will probably expand into some other things, but there's no emergencies in beauty.
My friend, that customer can wait. That, that teamie can likely find what she's looking for. ~Um,~ if you just put down the phone and focus the time where you should be most ~loyal,~ loyal, which is God first and spending time with him. And serving him and honoring him, but not people, not the church. God first. Then your spouse, then your kids, and then all the other things, including Restore and your teamies and your customers and all of that can come after that. [00:15:00]
And one thing I can tell you, having been in more of the workaholic zone is the Lord. We've already talked about this. It's a provider of all things, including your time. And I have found that when you put those things first, like even with all of the time and energy required in starting this company, I find that when I do my best to rest on Sundays to. To soak up, you know, attend church. Spend time with my family. ~Uh, ~still serve of course at my church and to focus on time with Roger, with my girls and put my focus on them.
Then the time that I do have, I find that I can find the time and space to do the things that the Lord is calling me to do, but there's not much else to go around. And so I just encourage you to ask yourself now, what are you being loyal to? And are they really the most important priorities? And so we hope here at Restore through this core value of loyalty. To really guide you towards the loyalty places where they should be the most important. So that's the number two reason. [00:16:00] The number three reason we chose loyalty is actually what we're going to talk about with our comp plan. So, ~uh, ~forgive me.
I can't even remember. I know I've talked about this on the video for our focus groups. If you've already filled out the survey, you know this, ~um,~ and I may have mentioned it on an episode, but essentially we will have two different paths towards building a business here at restore. The first one is what we're calling advocates. And the second are what we're calling partners and the advocates are meant for those who are well, really three different paths.
One, someone who maybe isn't quite ready to step into network marketing leadership, but does love the idea of sharing a product that they love and making an income from that. So even if you aren't a social media influencer, but you know, you want to share. A product like restore with your friends and family.
The advocate is going to be the best path for you. Then the second person who's going to love the advocate are our hostesses. So I'm so excited. I'm working literally today on finalizing the details of what we're [00:17:00] calling our Beauty Lab Experiences and specifically our Beauty lab experience kits. And so this is going to be a concept in a system to equip our, either our advocates, which will also be our hostesses or our partners, to be able to have a successful class or beauty lab or party, if you're a old school network marketing gal, because we know this is one of the most duplicatable systems to build your business, but honestly, it's also really fun.
It's a great way to learn how to play makeup. It's a great way to try a new skincare routine. It's a great way to share the magic of what we are building here at restore in a way that you can show someone else how to do it too. And so our hostesses will also be advocates if they choose. And the advocates, as well as the partners, which that last category is going to be more for the people who are looking to build a traditional network marketing leadership based business. [00:18:00] But whether it's those three categories or the advocate who is an online affiliate, meaning you've got a big social media following, and there's a lot of you guys listening and I'm actually, I'm like nervous about how many of you guys are getting excited about restore.
Cause I'm like, shoot, we're going to need some more. We're going to need some more products. So hopefully you guys don't sell us out and know that if that does happen, which it likely could happen with the interest, been getting for people who want to be advocates and just be an affiliate for sharing the product.
And there's some big names out there. That if that happens, know that we will do our best to turn it around and get product back in as quickly as we can, but we're trying to remain profitable. We are building this business debt-free and from the ground up, bootstrapping it, Roger and I ourselves. From the blessings and benefits ~of, ~of the business model that, ~um, ~that we've been a part of in the past.
And so we want to do this and be good stewards of it, but the advocate program is going to be perfect for those three areas for someone who's baby steps into the network marketing space, or maybe had a bad experience at [00:19:00] another company or. In in the industry somewhere, or they want to be a hostess. ~Uh,~ for a beauty lab experience in-person or virtual cause yes, we will also have virtual,~ uh, ~business tools along with all kinds of goodies in our digital business kit that will essentially. Be what we equip our partners and advocates with to launch their business. And then of course, again, the advocates that are more affiliate minded or online influencers will be able to participate in that. ~Um, ~so whether your partner, whether you're an advocate, you're going to have what we're calling a loyalty link, and this is going to be something that's really simplified.
It's basically your own website that you will get immediately upon enrolling as an advocate or a partner. That's your direct link that you don't have to change because we're not going to have like a corporate sponsored. Like a hostess rewards where you have to set up a separate link for every single party and keep track of who orders from.
What, if you have someone that, for example, if you're a partner and you have someone that you want to have as a hostess, you can invite [00:20:00] them to enroll as an advocate to set up that loyalty link, to earn both free products. And commissions. From their order, but then you of course take advantage of that.
If you're on the partner side of the volume in your team. And so that is one way that the loyalty link is going to be a really simplified approach to this business, to where there's one place to go. There will be a search button on every page of the website. We just met with our website people today.
And it's pretty cool that you will be able to go or at a beauty lab experience. So you can scan a QR code. And you'll be able to go to the website and search for the advocate or partner. ~Uh,~ that you want to shop or enroll with, and that loyalty link will pull up and you can use that loyalty link to shop with them.
Or if you're a partner and advocate, that's going to be the link that you're going to share with people. So get excited about that. I really think that simplified approach that. You know, dials into this loyalty concept is going to be [00:21:00] so special. And we won't share specifics of how much product and commissions you earn until a little bit later, but stay tuned.
We are also working on a really putting the finishing touches on our compensation plan in a way that we can share it with you in a simplified way. Here in the next few weeks. So make sure that you are in the focus group, click the link in to join the survey below. And then from that, you'll get a series of emails where you can select one of the founding partner mentors to connect with and dive in, to stay in the loop on all the things.
And that's also where I'll be sending email updates. When we do roll out things like our compensation plan updates. And so. The last reason we chose the word loyalty is it really embodies what our partners and advocates are going to be doing, which is sharing their loyalty link or enrolling to create a loyalty link
so stay tuned for more information. There's lots of more inside scoop to come on that. But let's recap. And then, ~uh,~ let's say a prayer. So loyalty. We chose [00:22:00] it for three reasons. Number one. Loyalty to us as loyalty to the relationships first, not just loyalty to Restore. And we hope to instill that loyalty in you by amazing products, amazing customer service, and a killer comp plan that you're going to love. But our loyalty is to you and the relationships that we build with you.
And we hope that you exemplify that whether someone joins your team at restore or not, regardless of the. Loyalty that you may have had with them in the past. Number two reason is because that loyalty we want to instill should be an ordered approach. And balance is really not good. My girl, ~um, ~are not easy to do.
I should say my girl, Michelle Myers, it's like in the first page of the book, she works his way. She talks about, you know, people ~seek ~trying to find balance, but that's not really biblical, but order is. And so who are you most loyal to? Hopefully it's the Lord. If you're not there yet, totally understand that you might be seeking that.
And we are happy to talk to you about that, but. Truly the, the way that I have been the most blessed [00:23:00] in my life for sure is God, first, your husband, second, your kids next. And then all the other things including restore or your network marketing business, after that. And then lastly, we're so excited to roll out the loyalty links for both our advocates and our partners. And we think this is going to be a beautiful and simplified approach and how we can share the product with people.
So get excited for that. Lord. Thank you so much for those that are listening today and that are following. Along in this journey of the creation of this company, we are truly doing it together, linking arms with the people that are part of the focus group and with our founding partner mentors. And so we just ask that you give us continued clarity and confidence and reminders that you are in this.
You are going before us. And not just us as the founders, but ~us at.~ Everybody that's listening because when we look to you, that's what you do, you guide us. And so just help us to know, first of all, where our loyalties should lie and the relationships that matter. Even if the business [00:24:00] partnership doesn't continue or doesn't. ~Uh, ~move on to Restore, help people to realize that one of the best aspects of this business are the friendships and the relationships that stem from it.
And to put that relationship and friendship first above all. And then secondly, Lord, just, we invite people to whether or not they have given their life to you to seek after your example and putting you first and knowing that you can light their path and then. The people that you've put in their lives that are the most important, namely their spouses, if they're married and their kids, if they have them. And the beauty of getting that order.
Right. And the loyalty that comes along with that. And then lastly, thank you for those that are really excited about our advocate and partner programs and the loyalty link concept. And thank you for the clarity and inspiration behind our beauty lab experiences and just help us to be able to clearly communicate all of these things in your timing, above all. And thank you again for everything that you've done for us and continue to do [00:25:00] in Jesus name.
Amen. All right, guys. Well, thanks for listening to another episode and just a few more left and I'm so thankful and so excited to see what's next for you and for us with Restore. Y'all have a great week. Bye. ~ ~
