143 | Restore Collective Core Value: Family
===
~ ~[00:00:00] Hey friends. Welcome back to the Called to Lead podcast. So today is an exciting episode because we are going to be continuing rolling out the next core value for the foundational aspects of my brand new direct sales company that I'm starting with. My husband called Restore Collective. So go back and listen to the previous episodes.
If this is the first time you're hearing about this as you'll want all the scoop and all the details, but for those of you guys who are following along in this journey with us, as we roll out the company in Q1 of 2025, the way that we're doing that is by giving you bits and pieces of the plan. By rolling out our core values.
And so today's core value is honestly, one of they're all very important, but this is one of the most important as it is tied directly to our mission statement. But since it's so much deeper than that, and it involves so many different facets, we're going to break it down in this episode. ~Uh, ~and share the three reasons why we chose the word family for our [00:01:00] core value. And what's also really exciting as at the end, I'm going to be announcing what we are calling our founding partner mentors, which are essentially going to be the roots and the leadership and the mentorship that will be rooted in these core values that will help our company grow like a beautiful, strong, solid tree. So I'm so excited to dive into today's episode with you. [00:02:00] ~ ~
~ ~Okay. So let's get into the three reasons why we chose the word family as one of our core values. And if you've been following along, you know, that we also selected a verse from the Bible for each one of these, just to further explain kind of why we chose it and to add a deeper level of complexity and importance to the word.
And so family. And in the bigger context of really working together, whether that's with your actual family or whether that's with your family of other partners in Restore, or even in ~one of the ~whatever company that you might be ~interested or~ already invested in yourself. ~Uh, ~finding your family and partnering with them is the best [00:03:00] way to do life and business.
And the scripture that specifically references that is a Ecclesiastes 4:9 which says "Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their toil." And so I don't know about you, but if you are a driven,~ Achieving ~achievement minded entrepreneur. It can sometimes feel like you have to do things all on your own.
And what's kind of crazy is probably like half of network marketers never even like build a teamie or don't rely. Uh, you know, we're build a team I should say, or rely on their upline or their mentor, or a, even better a sideline, someone who's not benefiting from your success and you're not benefiting from their success.
These aspects of the relational side of this business are some of the most beautiful. But if you are married, You do have an actual family. And even if you're divorced, if you've got kids or, you know, a, ~um, a truck ~like a dad or somebody in your life that you consider your family, and especially if that is your [00:04:00] spouse.
And in my case, I'm here to tell you that if you try to do things on your own, not only are you not going to have the results or the reward for all your toil, which is basically just the hard work that goes into any business. But it also can have an impact on the relational aspects of your family, because they're not invested in what it is that you're doing, or they're not invested in the full picture of why you're doing it. And so we want to flip that script with Restore and yes, because we are a makeup and skincare company.
If you miss that announcement, think of us as the athleisure or the Lulu lemom of makeup and skincare. It's the things that you want to wear every day. Like I'm a little bit more dressed up gussied up today. Cause I'm going to. ~Uh, ~ladies, ~uh, ~networking luncheon today. ~Uh, ~but most days you can find me in leggings or like cozy spanks air essentials. And that's what we want this makeup and skincare to be is the easy integrations that fit into your family's everyday routines.
And so eventually this will even have [00:05:00] things that well, it actually, from the get go, it will have things that your husband, your kids, even if they're boys will like, because the look and feel is not so much of like this Luxe global, like glam, bougie, beauty brand, it's going to be like relaxed, comfortable quality.
Again, we already talked about, you know, The sustainability and transparency aspect of the products ~that we, ~that we will have. ~Um, ~so think of it is just like the comfortable, easy things that you already use in love, but a better version of those things that are going to be more simplified, more sustainable, smarter, safer. And they also have like a fun seasonal element, which we'll talk more about when we get there. But. The family aspect is huge because this is something that if you're listening and probably you are a woman. Because most of my listeners and most of our teammates will likely be women.
And they're also the driving purchaser for their families, everyday essentials that we will be selling, but essentially by inviting them on this [00:06:00] journey with you, especially in business, you will see a greater reward, both relationally. You're going to see a reward in your business because you're going to be bringing in that mindset. For, you know, their strengths and your weaknesses, even my 11 year old, you guys has come up with some of the best ideas for this company.
And it's because she's got a brilliant, smart little mind, and she's not afraid to speak her heart and her mind. And so inviting your family into this journey, whether it's your actual family or the people that, you know in love is the best way to make this successful. And so that's reason. Number one that we decided to choose family as a core value is because we are better together. When you try to do things on your own, you are never going to be as successful as when you invite others on the journey with you.
And so whether, again, that's your actual family and your spouse, which is what we will encourage everyone to do. So for example, before someone even signs up for this company, if they want to be a partner or an advocate, we want them to [00:07:00] talk to their spouse or to their families to get their feedback, to get their thoughts. ~Uh, ~and think about it and pray about it because we want that alignment. I know that in my first two companies that I joined. ~Uh, I never mark,~ actually I have three experiences and all three of them, I did not speak with my husband about it.
And thankfully the Lord worked it all out for good. And it was okay. But I know that if I had said, you know, even if it was scary, if I had asked and expressed my feelings and reasons and desires for wanting to do it. With my husband at the time, but he was my husband and I'm still at my husband, but you get the point. If I had done it at the time. I think that it could have been so much better because I remember I kind of carried around this like fear and shame and conviction, if you will. ~Uh, ~of, of not sharing it with him and not feeling like we were fully invested in this together.
And so that's just one aspect that we believe that you are better together and inviting your family into the decisions. Even the most important ones like joining a company like Restore or any company or business that you decide to start, you gotta be in it together [00:08:00] and same goes for your team. So if you've led a team in any network marketing company, or you are leading a team in one right now, or you want to build a team as a partner with Restore. Then I highly encourage you to invite your family along this journey with you.
I'm not saying like, get your team to join this. What I'm saying is like your team, whoever decides to join with you in this, you want to include them in the decisions that you make. You want to share your ideas with them transparently. Like we talked about in last week's core value episode. You want to invite others in this journey, because that is what is going to make this better.
They're going to feel more invested. They're going to feel more excited. And the cool thing is, is you can even start doing that now today, when I share the founding partner mentors. They all have their own focus groups as we're calling them where you can jump into and be a part of a family right now, and invite your future family with Restore, to learn more and to learn [00:09:00] out loud and to share in this journey altogether, it's essentially this beautiful community that we're already creating and you can be a part of it.
And we'll tell you more about that. ~Um, ~in just a bit. So that's the first reason is that. We know that we are better together. Our family. Is the most important aspect of this business. And if you include them in that journey, whether that's your actual family or your work. Or team family. Things will be better.
And just like scripture says two are better than one because they have a good return for their toil. So the second reason. Is kind of tied to the first and that this is if you're doing the business, it should be for your family. And my favorite example of this is my favorite movie, which is the greatest showman where he ~initial,~ initially started this, you know, this big circus and all these big dreams and goals to serve the people he loved, which was his beautiful wife and his two girls. And somewhere along the way, he let the pride [00:10:00] and the fame and the fear and all of the other things of this world, the money. ~All the other,~ all the other things that can fight for our attention. That are not as important as the God-given gifts of our husbands, our children. ~Um, ~our family again. What you're doing in any business should be for your family. And I want this core value to be a reminder that that is the entire purpose of why you are doing this.
It's not for you. Is it going to benefit you? Yes, it will make you a stronger person, a stronger leader, a stronger friend. ~Uh, ~a stronger wife, hopefully. ~Um, ~but the best way to do that is to keep in mind the entire reason that you're doing it in the first place, which is for the foundational aspects of your family. And so if you haven't watched that movie, definitely go watch it and view it from that lens of, you know, what, what good. Is it, if you build up this huge empire for you to be the only one that benefits from it.
So by [00:11:00] going back to number one and inviting them on the journey and realizing that you're going to be better by inviting them along that journey with you. But then also keeping your rooted core. Why in the fact that this is for them, that is what is going to help you stay grounded and help you tackle the hard things that you're going to face, but help keep the right perspective and why you're doing it in the first place. So that's reason.
Number two is that this is for your family and that's not just the products that is the business side. And that is a part of the reason why we are founding this company. Now, lastly, the third reason, this is the core value as we are structuring our entire compensation plan, which is so close to being final.
You guys, I could not be more excited. We are working with the best consultants in the industry to develop something that is really simple, but innovative and has so many cool elements and takes all the icky stuff out of direct sales. But brings in all the important aspects that we've been talking about.
And one of those is family. So we are going to be [00:12:00] flipping the script on the pyramid structure or the top down structure that you're used to with the traditional direct sales channel. And even our back office is going to be a bottom up tree. Which is essentially a family tree. So the third reason is even the structure of our company is going to be structured more like a family tree.
And what's kind of cool is we are doing something that I think is both unique and innovative though. I don't think we're the only ones to do this, but it was one of the foundational aspects~ of, ~of doing this company that I knew was going to make us really strong. Is that, and we've talked about this, I think a time or two before on the podcast, but we're really inspired by. ~Uh, the, uh,~ the Oak tree I live outside of Savannah, Georgia, and they're everywhere.
And if you've ever seen them, they are stunningly, beautiful, huge, gorgeous trees that have dripping Spanish Moss. But what's, what's crazy is Lisa TerKeurst shared a story. One time she was walking in her neighborhood. And she saw one of these gorgeous Oak trees that had toppled over and she asked the Gardner. [00:13:00] Why how could this tree, this big gorgeous tree?
How could it fall over? Like what was it not strong enough? It'd been there for probably a hundred years or more. So what made it fall? And the gardener said it's because the roots weren't strong enough. They weren't deep enough. They weren't wide enough and they weren't strong enough to sustain the growth of the company.
And I think we've all seen where that is the case. And so what we want restorative to be is rooted, not just in mine and Roger, and while that would be great, but even better than doing it with our little family, we're inviting a family of what we're calling Founding Partner Mentors, who are strongly rooted in all of these ~core.~ Core values, who are, who literally feel called to be a part of this, like in some pretty inexplicable ways.
Like that's how one of the million reasons I know the Lord is in this is just the ways that he's brought us. These people he's brought their energy and we always joke. ~Uh, ~well, there's an inside joke. I'll fill you in on later, but, ~uh, ~Anyways. They've been here from the beginning before this [00:14:00] was even remotely as close to how special it has become and boiled down to something so clear and so beautiful and so special.
But these Founding Partner Mentors are going to be the roots and the foundation. To help us grow something really strong and really beautiful. And what's awesome is ~I kind of, um, ~it's like forming a cheer team, if you will. Like where, you know, we've, we've had it, not so much try outs but I've been like having conversations and, and, you know, tons of prayerful discernment. ~Uh, ~with many people and we're still praying about a few of these spots, but I felt called for there to be 12 of them.
Two of them are actually going to be in our first country, which if you know these two, you are, it'll be a dead giveaway for what our first country will be. ~Um, ~so I may as well just spill the beans where we will be launching in Q1 with product sales and the partner program in the United States. But we will be launching with product sales. And soon to come after within that ~first, ~first year in [00:15:00] Canada.
And so we are going to have two of our 12 founding mentor spots that are Canadian rockstar leaders, and then 10 us rockstar leaders that are going to be a part of building up, not only the strong us systems, but when we do expand to Canada with the partner program. And when we expand to future companies, this will be the model that we use to make sure that we get. It right in those countries, because we don't want to just expand to increase the revenue.
We want to expand, to bring the opportunity that needs to be custom tailored and best suited for each of these individual markets. And we do want this to be a global company and we have that longterm vision in mind, and this is how we're going to do it. But think about these founding partner mentors as like the all-star cheer team.
And so everybody that's a part of it had to have a back tuck, right? Like if you want to make a high school, also our cheer team got out of the back tuck. Well, the Bactec for this is two years of top 2%. Plus leadership in direct sales, whether that's like currently or recently, or whether that's in the past [00:16:00] experience that has now brought them here. And what's cool is we have created a really beautiful group of different mindsets, different backgrounds, different companies that are coming together to essentially be the mentors for the entire field.
So all of the partners that enroll are the customers that start to purchase will purchase from someone that's on one of those branches. Because again, it's like a family tree, right? So one of the branches that stems from the roots of these Founding Partner Mentors. And so I hope that that makes. Sense.
And so as we grow, even like the legs, if you've heard of legs and direct sales company, ours are going to be branches. ~Um, ~and what's really neat is our compensation plan is kind of structured. To where, you know, you're motivated to build. ~Um, you know, ~strong branches, but ~it's, it's, ~it's more of a volume-based approach so that you're able to pour into the entire branch. And what's really cool is these founding partner mentors have been selected with their abundance mindset in mind to also support each other, kind of like a really strong kick line.
~So, uh, ~I [00:17:00] actually told him it was not required watching, but I did tell them that they should watch the. ~Uh, ~Dallas Cowboys America's sweethearts because it's kind of like, then you got to have a really good high kick because they're going to be high kicking together. Linking arms. And the whole thing is going to be so beautiful and so strong because of this.
And they, and I will be spending the next quarter. So through the end of this year on the development of the systems, the tools and making this as good as it possibly could be. And so are y'all ready to know who they are. I'm sure you are. And of course, that's the third reason that we chose the word family it's because they, if you want to be a part of Restore will be your family.
And one way or another. Like there'll be your grandma, your mama, your aunt, your sister, somebody somewhere ~in that, ~in that zone. Right? ~Um, ~but without further ado, I am seriously so excited to announce and make it public so they can now start to share their journey out loud with you. The founding partner mentors for Restore Collective keeping in mind that I'm still prayerfully.
You'll notice there's [00:18:00] nine. Two of them are Canadians and some prayerfully, ~um, ~keeping an open-minded heart and having conversations as we speak with a few to fill those other spots, because we want it to be the right people. So here we go. So our two Canadian founding partner mentors are Whitney Thiessen and Raelynn Reimer.
And I love both of these ladies so much, and I'm so excited for the way that they are going to help us develop something really, really beautiful for Canada, but they'll also be able to take advantage of their connections in the United States as well. And so, ~uh, ~they will, ~uh, ~be essentially using their own corporations if you're in Canada and you're like, well, wait, how can they join as a partner?
But. They're there in Canada. We have a way that we are working with our attorneys to make that happen. ~Um, ~through the foundation of a corporation, which you guys is not for everybody. So don't go like pay money to start a corporation. The whole we'll get to the profitability core value in a minute. But this will definitely be worth their and our investment to make sure that we can bring a [00:19:00] beautiful, amazing company and an incredible product to Canada. And they will be a big part of that. Okay, so next up in no particular order. Lyndsay Raffield, Colleen Matthews, Brianne Heape, Marenda Benson, Kristi Bestwick, Sophie Winchester, and Jess Lindstrom. So my friends, those are our nine founding partner mentors.
There will be a few more to come that I will announce as we go. ~Um, ~but in case you miss last week's, ~um,~ I guess. Call to action. I guess we'll just call it what it is. I dropped a focus group survey that I will also drop here in ~the, ~this description. ~And, uh,~ in the show notes of the podcast for you to fill out, if you haven't already. And what's really cool is, ~um, ~it will gather more information on helping us develop the product. ~Uh, ~but it's also a way, ~um,~ that I can pass along if you know, one of these [00:20:00] ladies, because you can't enroll direct to me, you can enroll direct to one of these ladies, ~um,~ that, you know, and so there will be an added element on there if you're not already connected to one of these amazing ladies to where you can get plugged in, if you know them reach out to them. No, that if you are a part of our focus group and you filled out that survey, you'll be getting a link to an email with a little bit more about them, their pictures, because it's such a huge variety of different experiences and facets to their journey.
And we know that you'll love getting to know them, and I'm sure we'll actually at some point, even have them on the podcast to be able to share their heart and their story. So stay tuned more for,~ uh, ~for that. And, you know, again, ~this, um,~ The remaining spots. If, if it's you or someone that you know, that is just meant for this position, they have to be all in.
Even, even if they have an amazing back tuck. And they've got the tumbling skills that can take this thing to the top. They've got to be aligned and rooted in our mission, vision and [00:21:00] values, but more importantly, they have to feel called to do this because I can tell you there. We're some amazing leaders on my team and that I've talked to that are already rooted and growing in other endeavors, whether that's in network marketing or in the traditional retail space or they're in the waiting and the season of trying to figure out what the Lord has for them next in their business.
And so if they're not all in or if they're not ready yet, or certainly if they're already all in and rooted at another opportunity, This is not for them yet. It doesn't mean that they can't enroll later, but that won't even come until Q1 2025 so I want for these roles. And I'm praying that it is a diverse group of experience. ~Uh, ~backgrounds and just a really strong and beautiful team and a family that can take ~this, ~this business into what I know is going to be a game changer, not just for Restore, but truly I believe for the industry as a whole.
And so my friends that's the last and final reason that we chose the word family is. This is like a big family. [00:22:00] It is going to be so special. And I'm so excited for you guys to meet ~your, ~your matriarchs. If you will. ~Your your, ~your mama's grandma's great-grandma's of this business. And they are all here to serve you, whether you enroll with them or with someone else on one of their teams.
And so. I'm going to wrap this up with a prayer and I'm so thankful and so excited to be able to share all of this with you. Dear Lord, thank you so much again, for the opportunity to be able to share out loud the mission and vision and core values that you have put on our heart from the very beginning. And thank you for just the clarity and the continuing to boil down. The beautiful aspect of what we're building here and each day, each week, and each conversation makes that better.
And in the spirit of transparency, we're really excited to make it official. The lovely and amazing leaders who have decided to link arms with us as founding partner mentors in this company. And we cannot wait to see the lives and families that they [00:23:00] impact. And so the listeners, we just invite them to prayerfully discern whether or not Restore is the right fit for them.
And if. If it is, or even if they're just curious that they can take that next step of filling out the focus group survey that's linked, but Lord, whether someone is completely rooted in another company and has no interest in doing this, let them be inspired by the example set in your word that two are better than one.
And that the best way to gain a reward for all of our hard work and toil is to partner together with our families, because this is for them, it's better with them. And it's an example of what it can look like. To lift up, not just our company, but the entire industry as a whole. If we focus on our family, So thank you Lord for this inspiration.
Thank you for our families. And we are so excited and grateful for all of it. We know it's all from you in Jesus name. Amen. All right guys more to come next week. Stay tuned. [00:24:00] ~ ~
