130 | I need help on this title lol - 3 ingredients needed for a time of transition
===
[00:00:00] Hey friends. Welcome back to the Called to Lead podcast. So in case you missed the last episode on this podcast or on this YouTube channel. You may or may not know that to the company that I've been a part of Seint has decided to change the compensation plan and structure. Of the business model to focus away from the traditional network marketing or direct sales model. And fully into an affiliate model, which essentially takes out the entire team or leadership piece, which as you know, because this podcast is Called to Lead is near and dear to my heart. So that leaves many of us, myself included in a season of transition, if you will, or in a season of decision making where we have to decide. For ourselves individually, not putting a blinders to what everyone else is doing.
What is the next right step for you? And most importantly, what does the [00:01:00] Lord have next for you in this. And so today's episode is going to be helping you wherever you are. It's certainly been a help to me in my decisions. To determine the three things that are necessary before you dive into a new endeavor before you transition to something new. And I can't wait to share more about this and a little bit more about my journey with each of the three steps.
So let's dive into today's episode.
[00:02:00]
Okay. So. If you listen to last week's episode, you know that, ~uh,~ first of all, the news of the compensation plan changes for Seint. Completely rocked me because I love this makeup. I don't know that that will ever change. And I love being able to share it with my friends and family and with all of you, even on my YouTube channel. And, you know, one of the things that I felt immediately is like, I don't know that I can continue not sharing the things. But the conundrum that I was faced with is that as you know, I feel Called to Lead and that leadership component has now been taken [00:03:00] from Seint.
And so,~ uh, ~and taken from me. For that matter. But I realized I'm in the midst of deep sadness, just confusion, chaos. All of the feels that this is a time of freedom, which I know kind of seems counter. ~Uh,~ to what myself and what you and what my, my people that I love through this business, what we can choose to do next. And so in the episode last week, I talked about the importance of giving grace to yourself.
First of all, but also others who kind of either quickly find whatever it is, that's the next path for them with joy and excitement, or for those that were more like me, where. You aren't really sure what that looks like. And so giving yourself time and giving yourself grace. And the importance of being kind right. ~Um, ~and being really prayerful. And so I will be sharing, ~uh,~ in a future episode, some specific prayers and verses that have been a blessing to me.
[00:04:00] But since I know that in the week, basically, that it's been since this has happened for a lot of you, or if this, if you're listening to this like a year later or whatever season, maybe you're not in Seint. And you're in a time of transition. I know from my own personal experience, but also from watching the experience of my friends and leaders and believers, not just in this current instance of sane, but also in other transition aspects of their life. I know that these three components that I'm going to talk to you guys about are the necessary ingredients to make sure that you are making the right step to align with the Lord's will for your life. So. Hopefully. ~Uh, ~this will be a blessing to you.
Like I said, as it has been to me. So the first thing that you need to look for on this journey of trying to transition into something new, especially if you're in the midst of a deep sadness. A deep hurt all the feelings, maybe some anger mixed in there. It's like the stages of grief are very, very [00:05:00] real right. But in the midst of that, I want you to encourage you to look for the first thing, which is a spark of joy. Or. A spark of hope.
My battery's dying. Or a spark of hope. Within a specific open door or a specific opportunity. And that doesn't necessarily mean that that's your, go ahead. Cause you're going to need the other two ingredients. Right. But that's your first clue that like, wait a minute, this is an emotion or a feeling. That I have not felt before.
And it's something that's absolutely worth exploring. And I absolutely love that word spark because I feel like that's exactly what it is. It's not necessarily a fire yet. Right. But a spark is what starts a fire. And there may be several things that, you know, kind of spark your heart a little bit, but I want you to pay attention to those things.
I want you to pay attention to the spark in others or the flame and excitement and fire and others. And you'll be able to [00:06:00] discern. I really do believe that you will win. That is placed in something that truly is their path for where they feel called and the joy and excitement that comes along with that new endeavor.
Right. Or I think you'll also be able to, to, to discern when that spark or that, that, that hope is more creative from a sense of urgency or scarcity, or trying to convince others to take a leap. You know, out of that fear and sense of urgency. So there's kind of a difference and what may seem like excitement for someone else can sometimes be an excitement for the opportunity, unfortunately, for them to capitalize on a situation like this.
So use your discernment and really pray about if you're looking for that spark in others to be what inspires you to take the next leap of faith. Just look at where that's coming from. Is it truly a hope for the future? ~Uh,~ belief that they can serve others through whatever product, whatever business, whatever, anything that they're doing.
And if so, lean into that and look into [00:07:00] that. Okay. So look for that spark and look specifically, what, what lights you up? I know I had friends on this journey that absolutely have had a spark for another product, or there's a couple really. ~Um, ~several and they're all different, which is crazy. ~Um, ~some more than others, right?
That have a spark for another opportunity. And I, it can be easy to kind of think, well, good for them because you may not be feeling that, but no, really good for them. Like that is what we all want. And that can be the hope that you can find that too. And so know that it can be both things. It can be a spark of hope and joy and a future for them. But it also might not be that for you.
So we can easily look at when someone makes a decision or says, they're feeling a certain way. You can kind of get introspective. And most of us are naturally thinking about ourselves and how things make our, you know, impact us. Right. But just know that,~ um,~ that's, that's important to do because just because they have that spark, it doesn't mean that you have to, and if you don't have the [00:08:00] spark, then just because they're excited doesn't mean that that's what you should be doing too.
If that makes sense. So use again, that level of discernment to say, did that give you a spark of hope? So that's the first ingredient that you need in order to make a successful transition to anything is a spark of hope, a spark of joy. Something that could possibly light into a fire for something so much bigger. So the second piece that I want you to look for is clarity.
So this is something that I know was my biggest prayer, and I know thankfully that the biggest prayer. For a lot of people that were praying for me and for my leaders and for my team. And that's been my biggest prayer for all of you, as well as to have clarity. And a vision for your next steps. And I want to be clear in this, that while I do, ~um, ~I'm very vision minded.
And, and I do, for example, this, this picture, if you're watching this on YouTube behind me is kind of the vision for what I feel like the [00:09:00] Lord has put on my heart in this season of, you know, these there's these mountains behind it, but there's this like beautiful, these beautiful fields and flowers, and there's a stream running through it all. And so it might be a big vision.
That, to be honest, like when I, when I realized that what I was doing, meaning my job or my income with Seint. Is is not who I am. It's not, ~um, ~the source of this vision, write it as a part of it. And it has been a part of it. But looking at the bigger picture of that vision, I realized that even through this podcast or, or through the things that the Lord has put on my heart, like embracing and enhancing God-given beauty, all of those things like that can't be taken from me because those are things that the it's the vision that the Lord has given me for the big picture aspects of my life. And I believe if you look deep enough and hard enough, you can find that for yourself too.
And so for me, I know I talk about this a lot, the cultivate, what matters, power sheets. And I can link to that in the description in the show. Notes has been one of the [00:10:00] biggest blessings on my entire journey in business, even before. Or maybe. Yeah, I'm trying to remember if I started doing them around the time I started Seint but I think it's been about eight years and I've been with Seint for about seven and a half.
So I can say that. You know, again, that's been a consistent blessing and helping me see. The big picture of who I am, who the Lord may be to be the things that light me up. And again, what you've been doing, whatever that is, whether it's Seint or whatever transition that you may be going from, or to. You can look at those things that, that you enjoy.
You can look at the things that you feel uniquely gifted, and they're going to be different from your sideline or your upline or your downline. Right? And so you can look at that big picture vision of what the Lord has had in store for you so far and realize that whatever this is that you've been doing, that you're transitioning from. It's only a facet of that. So look at the big picture vision. But also, I want you, as you pursue this new endeavor to have a clear picture, not of what the entire [00:11:00] picture is going to look like, like picture a puzzle, right?
Like. You, you don't know how it's all going to come, come to be. But when you find that next piece, that kind of fits with the other piece and you can start to see the picture come together. Or I've heard this analogy too, that it's like a flashlight when you're in the dark, which this feels like darkness on it for a lot of us.
And you've got a flashlight. You can't see everything, but you can see the next few steps in front of you. And so let the Lord be that flashlight for you to guide those next few steps of faith. Knowing that he is walking in this with you. I know Psalm 23 is probably been a really, really big. A blessing for a lot of you in this season and he is walking with you.
And if you look closely enough, you'll be able to see him even in the midst of the hardness. And so when I say clarity for your next steps and how that's an important ingredient. No, that it doesn't have to be the whole thing. Or if you like me, I've, I've been, I've starting to get pictures of this. I have this clarity for where the Lord could take me next in this.
And it's it's, I do have that spark of joy and [00:12:00] hope. And, and I do have that clarity, but I'm also holding it with an open hand, knowing that certainly God is able to make this vision and the clarity that I have happened. But even if he doesn't, I know that's because he has a part of a bigger plan and that's been one of the hardest aspects for me is as you know, if you've been listening for a while, you know that I had a vision, a big picture vision. ~Um, ~and perhaps that still will happen.
That Seint will be this global, you know, billion dollar brand. And I always envisioned myself a part of that. ~Uh, ~and now I'm like, okay, well maybe that's not, maybe that's not the case. And so I'm having to kind of pivot. So it doesn't mean that, ~uh,~ you know, that things will be exactly as I envision it, but it does mean that the Lord will work all of it together for our good. And his glory through all of this, and even in the midst of the darkness and the confusion, I can see that working. And so when we look at the second ingredient of vision and clarity, I want you to look at both the big picture of your life as a whole and [00:13:00] who you are and who you were made to be.
But also those, when you get that clear, you know, next steps in the path in front of you. No, that it might take a leak of faith to step out of the boat and to start walking on the water. And that's, that is an important ingredient is to have a clear next step for yourself. And then finally, an honestly, the most important is you have to have peace. And my friends, I know anxiety is running wild in a lot of our hearts. And that is normal.
It's to be expected. I, as I mentioned, I think in the last episode I had,~ uh, ~the joy. Of bunny word of watching inside out too, with my daughter in the midst of the news, getting kind of leaked to the field, not to everyone, but to, to a lot of people. And it was such a great reminder that, you know, we can. Kind of function, even in the midst of having that anxiety, that's going to be ever present, but that's the opposite of peace, my friends.
And so [00:14:00] I want you in this new endeavor to most importantly, have the peace that passes all understanding, which is only going to come from the Lord. And until, and if you don't have that, I want you to pause and realize that there is not a sense of urgency in this business model. I know that it can feel that way. But it's just not true.
I want to S you know, spotlight and shout, shout out Miranda Benson, who I recently interviewed on here. You guys, she hit a huge rank in her business at the end, literally on, well, technically it was two days before the end of June and on July 1st, she found out that that was essentially taken from her. But what I, I mean, I hate everything about that aspect of Marinda story, but I want you to be inspired by, I know that I, myself and I'm inspired by the fact that Miranda joined years, like four years. Into the same opportunity and she, you know, did I think he even joined let's see, three years ago.
Yeah. So she even [00:15:00] joined post COVID. And she was able to hit, which is essentially the top of the company for all intents and purposes at Seint or was the top of the company. And that's,~ um, ~a rank called artist seven. I can link to our income disclosure and it's a big freaking deal because I don't think anybody's done it and about a little over a year.
And funny enough, that was her Seint. Mama and mentor. The amazing Courtney Sheffield that I think was the last one to do it. Who also joined later on in this journey. And so I want to encourage you. To not like stress about missing the boat on whatever this is now. Is it true that yes. Getting on the ground level or in a hyper-growth phase of a business or. You know, diving in with that excitement and purpose.
And, and if you do have that spark of joy, you have that clarity and you have a peace about it. You shouldn't let fear be what holds you back. And when, I mean, fear, I mean, and I've, I've had to learn this lesson even for myself, is that prayerfully pursue the next steps that I feel like the Lord is calling to. It's a fear that you're [00:16:00] not enough or that you don't have what it takes or that you're going to have to do it all on your own or anything.
That's, that's tied to, you know, Belief that the Lord will carry you through whatever it is. That's not what I'm talking about. Like you are, that is what I'm talking about. Like you, you can not let that hold you back from what the Lord has in. His plans for you is fear. But what I will say is it's normal to kind of be a little like, like apprehensive, if you all are kind of like, okay, how's this going?
How's this going to work to kind of pause, be proactive. ~Uh, ~you know, to take those next steps of, you know, even just mapping out. You know the path in front of you to see what it looks like to not be frayed of the worst case scenario. Cause that's ultimately what fear is and to step into faith, which is believing the best possible case for what is possible for you. ~Uh, ~but to, to know that a fear, healthy fear. Is is. Can be present even [00:17:00] in times of whatever it is that you're pursuing.
So I hope that that makes sense. It's like be aware of the fear. ~Um, ~and know that sometimes the fear is going to be there despite having the peace, because I know I haven't experienced it that as well. But the piece is just when you have a calmness, when you stop, when you get off the scroll on social media.
Because I know from also experience that when I tend to go down that rabbit hole, the piece tends to evaporate because you're looking at other people, you're looking at their purposeful path. You need to keep your eyes fixed on your own. You need to align with other solid biblical Christian minded people who are walking this with you.
And if that is hopefully your mentor, if you're joining another company, then by all means like, You know, run with them. If you have all those other ingredients there. But if you don't have peace, And this decision, even if you've already made the decision. No, that it's okay to pause and rest and wait. On the Lord to, to, until he gives you that, because I know that he can and he will when it's [00:18:00] right.
And so just an example, and I told her I would, I would share this because this was inspired by her, my sweet neighbor. Who's not in network marketing her name's Nancy. And she recently. Kind of retired, took a pause. She's she's a hard worker loves to work. And so she's prayerfully pursuing her next steps, but she knew that it was time to step back from her job that she was in, even though it was a little scary to walk away from that income and, you know, the team, her coworkers, all of that. But she had that spark of joy for what the future could look like for her, her family. She had the clarity for how she would spend that at least a year. And devote that time to her children, to her grandchildren, to her,~ uh,~ ailing parents, which is a whole other season that a lot of us are going to be entering into. And she had a clear vision for that.
And the most important ingredient is she had peace. And so I hope this encourages you today to just pause, to pray. To [00:19:00] reflect on in this next endeavor that you're considering or pursuing. Do you have those three ingredients of a spark of hope? Enjoy. Clarity for how this fits into the bigger picture of the Lord's plan for your life and who he made you to be. And then finally the peace that passes all understanding. So I'm going to pray.
I don't usually do this at the end. I know I did it in the last one. And maybe I should start doing this. This is,~ uh, ~yeah, maybe this will be a new tradition. Lord, thank you for the listeners of this podcast and for the hearts that have lead, this message can touch. ~Um, ~remind them that these are not my words.
These are your words that are found in scripture. And they've just been brought to me through my own personal journey and walking in this time of transition. And so know that your timing is always perfect and that if someone's listening to this even years after the fact that it's because they needed to hear this message and be inspired by the story and that you can provide these three ingredients. That are necessary in the next step, in their [00:20:00] life.
And so just guide the hearts of those listening, ~um,~ be with all of the Seint leaders and artists, and even those who are choosing to remain affiliates in this too. To empower them. And that next step of transition to know that that power is coming from you and certainly not of their own, as long as they have given their life and are looking to you for those next steps. And so help us to seek you for that wisdom as you promise us in James. ~Uh, ~help us to have that peace and comfort help us to not be afraid. ~Uh, ~or have fear and Joshua one nine tells us that.
And the way that we do that is to stay close to your word and to other godly believers. And so thank you again for the opportunity to have the freedom of the next steps in, in the business. Even if it's scary, even if it's hard. ~Um, ~knowing that on the other side of those hard things is always something that you have in store for us.
That's better than what we could imagine. So thank you again for this opportunity in Jesus name. Amen. All right. Well, thank you guys for listening and stay tuned up. My plan is actually, I will be doing a recap [00:21:00] of the, ~uh,~ of my, what was actually a really great month in June. So that I think will be coming next and I will be continuing to share stories to help inspire you on your next step.
I also want to be sharing some stories of other leaders. Who've had a piece in the pivot. So if that's you, or if you know of someone who has walked through this journey before and has had to pivot at, let me know, maybe join the called sleek community on telegram. ~Um,~ you can shoot me an email at, ~uh,~ What's the best email. Heather K [email protected]. ~Uh, ~or just text me at 9 1 2 4 0 5 8 9 1 2. And so thank you again, ~um,~ much more to come.
I will be continuing this podcast. I definitely feel like that's something the Lord is still calling me to, and I'm thankful to be able to do it with you guys. So. ~Uh,~ y'all have a great week. See you next time. Bye. [00:22:00]
